Chloe Burrows breaks down in tears after admitting she faked romance with reality star

Chloe Burrows has revealed her staged romance with Too Hot To Handle’s Harry Johnson was part of a documentary exploring the dynamics of showmances.

The reality star, renowned for her stint on Love Island’s seventh season where she finished as runner-up alongside Toby Aromolaran, delved into the realm of celebrity relationships for her Channel 4 project, Love In The Limelight: UNTOLD.

Discussing the financial potential behind staged romances, Chloe conversed with fellow Love Island alumni Liam Reardon and Millie Court, along with Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, who disclosed tactics like staging arguments for lucrative paparazzi shots. Motivated by the prospect of substantial earnings—reportedly up to £250,000 annually—Chloe orchestrated a faux relationship with reality personality Harry, 31.

Reflecting on her venture, Chloe emphasised the financial allure of showmances, remarking, “If I really was going to be serious, that is so easy to make money off. You can start to see the web of finances that can go behind a reality couple.”

Chloe and Harry consulted celebrity agent Dave Read, managing stars like Joey Essex and Hannah Elizabeth, who projected a promising future for their partnership. Advising them on potential photo opportunities like house-hunting or ring shopping, Read envisioned significant earnings, stating, “There’s no reason that between you in one year you couldn’t bank a quarter of a million pounds.”

Following the documentary’s release, Chloe expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, sharing tearful selfies and acknowledging the support from her audience.

On social media, Chloe shared her excitement for the project’s launch, inviting viewers to explore the behind-the-scenes intricacies of reality relationships. She also revealed the fabricated nature of her public appearances with Harry, affirming her collaboration with the production team at Flicker Productions.

Chloe’s romantic history includes her relationship with Toby, formed during their Love Island stint in 2021. Despite a year-long partnership and cohabitation in Essex, the couple parted ways, with Toby subsequently finding love with Georgia Steel.

Meanwhile, Harry gained recognition for his appearance on Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle, winning £34,000 alongside ex-girlfriend Beaux Raymond before their split shortly after filming.
