Chilling Texts Mom Sent Ex Before Killing 3-Year-Old Son

Authorities in Texas have disclosed a harrowing timeline detailing events leading up to what appears to be a tragic murder-suicide involving a mother and her 3-year-old son. Savannah Kriger, 32, and her son Kaiden were discovered deceased at Tom Slick Park in San Antonio on March 19, 2024. Initially treated as a homicide, the incident is now believed to be a murder-suicide.

Sheriff Javier Salazar of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office recently outlined the sequence of events that preceded the tragic discovery. According to Salazar, Savannah’s distressing actions began on March 18 when she left work around 12:49 pm and proceeded to her ex-husband’s residence. There, she allegedly caused damage to personal belongings and furniture before departing for her own home. According to Salazar “it is believed Savannah enters the residence … damaging his personal clothing, miscellaneous items, and furniture.”

Salazar described a disturbing scene at Savannah’s residence, where wedding dresses were found laid out on a bed, with evidence suggesting she fired shots at wedding portraits. “She was at this residence alone at this time. There were some wedding dresses [that] seemed to be laid out on the bed and we believe she fired two shots into her wedding portraits that were positioned on the bed,”.

Surveillance footage and shell casings found at the scene aligned with those discovered at the crime scene where Savannah and Kaiden were later found.

The timeline provided by authorities also revealed chilling interactions between Savannah and her ex-husband. During a FaceTime call, she allegedly informed him that he would have nothing left by the end of the day and instructed their son to say goodbye.

“During the two minute and 13 second conversation, Savannah states in the video, ‘You don’t have anything to go home to now. You really don’t … And you won’t have anything at all at the end of today,’” said police authorities.

Salazar described a subsequent video in which Savannah and Kaiden were seen seated at the location where their bodies would later be found. In the video, Savannah bids farewell to her son, expressing regret over his father’s absence.

As reported by Fox News, she also added, “You left us for a piece of as* … Daddy left us for some woman he met on the internet … explain to your son why you’re not here.” When she was asked about the damage to his house, she allegedly said he “cared more about [his] material possessions than his son.”

Tragically, Savannah and Kaiden were not discovered until the following morning, having both sustained gunshot wounds. Authorities noted that the firearm used in the incident was legally purchased by a friend and later acquired by Savannah.

Savannah’s ex-husband, Brian Kriger, shared insights into the distressing messages he received prior to the tragedy, expressing concern for his son’s safety in light of Savannah’s erratic behaviour. Despite a restraining order against him, Kriger contends that Savannah made false allegations to gain custody of their son.

The heartbreaking sequence of events underscores the devastating consequences of domestic turmoil and underscores the importance of early intervention and support for individuals in distress.
