The actor opens up about stepping back from Hollywood following a difficult few years

Alec Baldwin has revealed he is thinking about walking away from acting after the fallout from the Rust shooting case.

The actor opened up about the experience, describing the trial as incredibly difficult and something that changed his perspective on work and life.

Baldwin faced involuntary manslaughter charges following the 2021 on set shooting that led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The case was ultimately dismissed in 2024, bringing a legal end to the situation.

But the impact has clearly stayed with him.

He admitted that in the years surrounding the case, he spent most of his time at home with his family and stepped away from acting almost entirely.

And now, he is not sure he wants to go back.

Baldwin said he has grown used to being at home and spending time with his children, adding that the idea of returning to a busy work schedule no longer appeals to him.

It is a big shift for someone with a decades long career in Hollywood.

At the same time, his professional life is still moving forward.

The actor is attached to several upcoming projects, including new films and a comedy, suggesting that while he may be considering retirement, he has not fully stepped away just yet.

He has also continued to speak out about the case.

Baldwin has criticised those involved in the prosecution and previously filed legal action, claiming the situation was mishandled.

For now, it seems he is focused on something else.

After years of legal battles and time away from the spotlight, Baldwin is prioritising life at home, and questioning what comes next.
