O.J. Simpson, a figure synonymous with both athletic prowess and infamy, has passed away following a battle with cancer. The former NFL star, famously tried for the double-murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in the 1990s, ultimately acquitted, breathed his last on Wednesday in Las Vegas, as confirmed by his family.

Surrounded by his children and grandchildren, Simpson succumbed to his illness Wednesday night after confronting prostate cancer in recent years. His health had declined significantly, necessitating hospice care in his final months.

Reports of Simpson’s cancer diagnosis emerged in February, initially shrouded in ambiguity. Though he refuted claims of being in hospice care, he did not directly address the cancer report. Furthermore, a video posted by Simpson in 2023 hinted at a prior encounter with cancer, suggesting he had overcome it. However, the disease resurfaced, ultimately claiming his life approximately a year later.
