Conor McGregor Hit By Car ‘At Full Speed’ While Cycling

MMA champion Conor McGregor has been involved in a car accident.

This news comes eighteen months after McGregor suffered a brutal leg injury in the ring. The fighter broke his leg during his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier back in 2021.

He has been working on his rehabilitation ever since.

Last September, he gave an update on Instagram, writing: “If you can’t hold your leg out straight at high kick level and maintain your balance and control here, you can’t kick to the absolute level that you can kick at.

“I cannot yet kick to the absolute level I can kick it. But I’m aware of where I need to go. I have the awareness that still despite all I am levels above all of those in my radar space of future fighting opponents. By a wide margin. Already, as is. And also that I’ve a steel bar in one of them. And it’s like a whip. And I don’t give a f***.”

McGregor has been working to build up his strength in his Dublin gym, the Irishman has resumed training, such as sparring and grappling, with his coach John Kavanagh, and was expected to make a comeback at some point this year.

Luckily, McGregor doesn’t appear to have been badly injured in the crash, which saw him get knocked off his bicycle by a car, but it can’t have helped his recovery.

The star took to Instagram moments after the accident, to reveal what had happened, he posted a photo as well as two videos of the incident, writing in the caption of his post: “Got a bang of a car just now from behind.

“A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full spreed straight thru me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time.

“Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life.”

In the video, that he also uploaded on his Instagram feed, McGregor showed the aftermath of the incident.

Gasping, McGregor took out his phone to film his bike lying in the middle of the road as the man driving the car, that was also involved in the collision, gets out of the vehicle and approaches him.

Clearly both men were shaken up by the accident, and the man can be heard apologising to McGregor, who replies: “All good mate, all good. Don’t worry about it.”

McGregor is then heard saying: “That’s nasty. I could have been dead there,” before adding: “all good.”

“I’m totally sorry – seriously,” the man responds.

The video has left fans in total shock, one wrote: “Glad you are alright. Even more amazing is your calmness in the face of an accident. Someone who truest understands what an accident is. God bless you Connor. Again, glad you are ok.”

While another said: “Imagine the shock of hitting someone off there bike and then it turns out to be Connor like I can’t imagine that fella telling his wife this story tonight at the table.”

“Moments like this show the true Conner, none of that putting on an act for the bag. He’s got more Grace than I do in this situation,” a third wrote.

We’re just glad he’s ok!
