An unfortunate mistake was spotted in the latest episode of The Last of Us on Sunday night, by a handful of sharp-eyed viewers.

The most recent episode, Kin, followed Joel and Ellie as they traveled westward and met up with Joel’s brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna).

But it seems a huge mistake was made during filming.

Per Deadline, the show’s first 2 episodes were viewed by over twenty million people, making it HBO’s fourth current show to average over fifteen million viewers, and now we’re on the sixth episode and it’s only growing.

It’s no wonder that they’ve already renewed it for a second season!

At the start of the year, audiences were first introduced to the HBO Max series, which is the first live-action adaptation since the video game wowed audiences way back in 2013.

Just like the games, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by an unstoppable, brain-eating, fungal outbreak that transforms humans into cannibals.

The writers have been commended for honouring the original source material, which rapidly gathered a devoted fan base when it first came out. The engaging storylines, impressive visuals, and music propelled it to its massive success.

For those who haven’t watched the show, Joel, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, is a ruthless smuggler who is responsible for transporting the young teen Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey) to a medical facility situated on the opposite side of the country after it turns out she’s immune to the infection, leading him to believe she could hold the cure to the deadly parasite.

The Last of Us premiered on January 15, and has been met with rave reviews from both critics and fans, resulting in an unbelievable score of 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes when it first hit screens.

Episode 6 came out on Sunday, but fans were left disappointed when they noticed that several staff workers were visible in a shot.

TikTok creator @domineo32, was the first to point out the blunder in the scene where Joel and Ellie were crossing a bridge covered in snow. During this he spotted that there were several people who appeared to be crew members at the periphery of the shot.

Dozens of fans have since shared their frustration on Twitter, with one even tweeting video game creator Neil Druckmann, they wrote: “Brilliant episode. Something you might want to fix and reupload though. You can see the film crew in this shot.”

He later clarified, “Also, I LOVE both the game and the series. I’m not simply pointing out mistakes. But I’m sure they’d want to fix it.”

While another wrote in the TikTok’s comments: “How do these multi-million dollar productions miss this stuff? I’m more precious with my 5 minute YouTube drone videos.”

“Also there’s an aerial shot behind them walking on the bridge and there’s multiple sets of fresh footprints,” a third pointed out.

However, some fans have tried to brush off the scene, with another adding: “Working in film I will say that getting these big shots without crew in them is real tough.”

What do you make of the mistake?
