Millie Bobby Brown ‘Turned Down’ $10 Million Stranger Things Offer

Millie Bobby Brown has turned down a whopping £10 million offer to star in a Stranger Things spin-off series because she wants to ‘branch out.’

The nineteen-year-old has appeared in a variety of other movies following her break out role as Eleven, and it seems she’s not ready to be typecast just yet.

Millie Bobby Brown started out her career in drama workshops up and down the country. The English actress was scouted by a Hollywood talent agent who told her parents she could “mix it with the best kids in Hollywood.”

Millie and her parents then moved to Florida, where she enrolled in stage school, after which she made appearances in well-known TV programs including, Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy.

Then in 2016, she landed her life-changing role in Stranger Things. Starring as Eleven, a telekinetic prisoner who becomes obsessed with a snack called Eggo, the teen has undoubtedly found the most global success from the show.

It’s here that Millie found her footing in the industry. And young Millie’s role as Eleven has well and truly rocketed her to stardom.

But it hasn’t always been easy, being thrust into the spotlight so young. The problem with becoming “famous” is that you have to give up privacy. You’re forced to watch your life unfold in a way that you could never imagine, with false news being spread about yourself as well as the people around you.

Unwanted media attention is difficult for anybody, let alone a young girl. The media scrutinises anyone they can, spreading lies or false rumours, about even young children, just to sell a story. It’s the worst aspect of becoming a celebrity and Millie has obviously become a victim of the press over the years.

One of the many things Millie has been criticised for is her male friends, or as some people claimed, her relationships. Millie was repeatedly seen hanging out with men much older than her which left fans unsettled.

One of them being Drake, who was slammed for hanging out with the teenager on many occasions. Obviously, some think it was completely innocent but one of his “supposed” girlfriends was an eighteen-year-old model, who Drake first came into contact with when she was only sixteen and he was twenty-nine.

She has obviously also gone on to have a great connection with Stranger Things co-stars Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton.

“It’s different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie. I met them when I was 10. So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates,” she said in an interview last year.

But as much as she’s enjoyed her time on Stranger Things, it looks like she wants to step away from the role that made her who she is today.

A source told The Sun: “There are so many directions it could go. Nothing is off the table.

“They think it would translate to a stage show for Broadway and the West End just like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

“Another spin-off series following some of the show’s main characters is also being worked up.”

Talking about the fifth and final season of the show, Millie said she is finally ready to move on after it comes out.

“I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time,” she said.

“But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones up,” she added.

“I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful (for the show),” she added.

The actress is a fan of The White Lotus, a beloved HBO series, and Millie said she might be open to appearing in a future season in an interview with Seventeen magazine a few weeks ago.

We can’t wait to see what she does!
