Donald Trump has made it clear that if he were re-elected as President, he wouldn’t extend any immigration leniency to Prince Harry, suggesting that Harry would have to navigate his residency status on his own, possibly facing deportation.

In an interview with the UK publication, the Daily Express, during the CPAC event in Maryland over the weekend, the former President expressed his disdain for the Duke of Sussex, stating that Harry’s immigration status might face scrutiny under his administration.

“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” Trump remarked, criticizing the Biden administration for what he perceives as being overly accommodating to Harry despite his actions.

Trump’s comments seem to reference a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) dispute indirectly involving Prince Harry. This involves a watchdog group suing the federal government to obtain documents related to Harry’s immigration papers and visa application. As Harry is not yet a U.S. citizen, revelations in his memoir last year regarding his past drug use have raised questions about compliance with DHS entry protocols.

The watchdog group argues that this constitutes a breach of DHS entry regulations and demands transparency, while Homeland Security contends that Harry’s privacy rights should be upheld. They also suggest that Harry’s revelations in his book may not be legally binding as they were not made under oath.

Trump’s insinuation suggests that under his administration, the DHS would handle the matter strictly, potentially resulting in Prince Harry’s expulsion from the United States.
