King Charles Releases Statement after Shock Royal Family Death

Buckingham Palace has sorrowfully announced the passing of Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

A statement released on behalf of Lady Gabriella, Mr. Martin and Mrs. Jill Kingston, Mrs. Joanna Connolly, and Mrs. Emma Murray, expressed profound grief over the loss of their beloved husband, son, and brother. The statement described Thomas as “an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him,” and requested privacy as the family mourns his passing.

The King and Queen have extended their deepest condolences to Lady Gabriella Kingston and Mr. Kingston’s family. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson conveyed, “The King and the Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family. In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family.”

Thomas Kingston, aged 45, was discovered deceased at a residence in Gloucestershire on Sunday evening. Emergency services responded to the scene shortly after 6 pm. While no suspicious circumstances or involvement of others were reported, an inquest will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Born on June 22, 1978, Thomas Kingston was the son of lawyer William Martin Kingston KC and Jill Mary Kingston, whose lineage traces back to Sir William Joseph Pearman-Smith of Park Hall. A graduate of Bristol University, Thomas pursued a career in finance. He exchanged vows with Lady Gabriella Kingston (formerly Windsor) on May 18, 2019, following their engagement in September of the previous year on the Isle of Sark. Their wedding ceremony took place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, graced by the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Thomas Kingston made his inaugural appearance at Trooping the Colour in June 2019, an annual parade marking Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday celebration. While his wife, Lady Gabriella, does not undertake royal duties, she is recognized as a freelance writer contributing to esteemed publications such as Conde Nast Traveller and The London Magazine.

Lady Gabriella, born to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent as their only daughter on April 23, 1981, initially held the 18th position in the line of succession to the throne, which now stands at 56th.

RIP.
