Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spoken out through a spokesperson regarding Kate Middleton’s photo-editing controversy, breaking their silence on the matter.

According to US gossip site Page Six, sources close to Meghan and Prince Harry stated, “This isn’t a mistake that Meghan would ever make…she has a keen eye and freakish attention to detail.” However, a spokesperson from the couple’s Archewell Foundation refuted this claim, telling Newsweek, “With respect to Page Six, that did not come from us.”

Page Six acknowledged that the quotes might have originated from “someone connected to the Sussexes, expressing a personal opinion, who was not officially authorized to speak on their behalf.”

The scrutiny on Kate Middleton’s recent photo-editing errors intensified after it was revealed that several areas of a picture she shared to mark Mother’s Day had been doctored. Concerns about Kate’s well-being and whereabouts arose as she had not been seen since Christmas, but she later released a photo on Instagram posing with her three children.

However, social media users noticed discrepancies in the image, prompting Kate to apologize for the errors. This incident drew parallels to allegations that the Sussexes had edited a photo to announce their second pregnancy, with reports suggesting that their photographer friend, Misan Harriman, had added a tree into the background.

Responding to the claims, Misan Harriman addressed the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The original Jpeg without the black and white grade,” alongside the unedited version of the photo he took of Harry and Meghan when they announced their pregnancy. He clarified, “No trees or meadows were moved or swapped, this is the image straight out of the camera. Also that is a Jacaranda Tree, not a willow tree.”
