Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Net Worth Revealed Four Years After Leaving Royal Family

The net worth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has finally been unveiled, four years post their departure from the Royal Family.

Currently residing in a luxurious mansion in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, the Sussexes find themselves in esteemed company, neighbouring the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and Katy Perry. Their sprawling abode boasts a staggering value of $14 million (£11m).

Despite stepping down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and shouldering the taxpayer costs for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, their former Windsor residence, reports suggest that the couple’s combined net worth stands at a substantial $60 million (£48m).

In May 2020, the Duke and Duchess announced plans to reimburse the taxpayer-funded expenses for the Frogmore Cottage renovations over the course of a decade, amounting to approximately £2.4 million. This entails monthly payments averaging £18,000 until the debt is fully settled.

Transitioning from England to the United States has proven to be financially fruitful for the couple. In 2020, amidst their royal departure announcement, they inked a lucrative deal with Netflix, reportedly valued at $100 million (£80m). Shortly thereafter, they secured a hefty $20 million (£17m) advance from publisher Penguin Random House for a four-book deal, inclusive of the memoir Spare.

Their revenue stream further expanded with a substantial $25 million (£18m) contract with Spotify towards the end of 2020, which saw Meghan launching her Archetypes podcast. Although their collaboration with the streaming platform concluded, the couple’s production company, Archewell, expressed pride in their joint endeavours.

Interestingly, prior to their royal tenure, Meghan possessed an estimated net worth of $5 million (£3.5m). Renowned for her portrayal of Rachel Zane in the popular legal drama Suits, she earned a notable $50,000 per episode (£37K).

Looking ahead, Meghan Markle is poised to unveil her latest venture, American Riviera Orchard, speculated to emulate Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand. A trademark application suggests that her brand will offer an array of products spanning fragrance sachets, skincare preparations, bath and shower essentials, haircare products, cosmetics, and more.
