O.J. Simpson, once a central figure in one of America’s most notorious murder trials during the 1990s, has passed away following a battle with cancer.
The former NFL star died on Wednesday in Las Vegas, as confirmed by his family. He was 76.
Among the first celebrities to publicly react was Caitlyn Jenner, whose ex-wife Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian family, was close friends with Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife. Simpson was acquitted of Brown’s murder in what was famously dubbed “the trial of the century.”
The family of Ron Goldman, another victim in the case for which Simpson was accused and later acquitted, stated that Simpson’s death is “no great loss to the world.”
Regarding unfounded conspiracy theories, misinformed fans and trolls have inundated Khloe Kardashian’s recent posts on social media platforms like X and Instagram with “condolences” following O.J. Simpson’s death. This stems from the unsubstantiated rumour that Simpson is Khloe’s biological father.
Despite vehement denials from both Kardashian and Simpson, with the reality star dismissing the claims as far back as 2017, the theory persists. Kardashian has yet to publicly address Simpson’s death.
