What Emma Watson And Daniel Radcliffe Did To Cause JK Rowling To ‘Never Forgive Them’

JK Rowling has recently made it clear that forgiveness isn’t in the cards for Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.

The acclaimed author unequivocally stated that if the duo ever sought her forgiveness, it would be a futile endeavor.

Rowling’s stance comes amidst years of accusations of transphobia, stemming from her outspoken views on transgender rights. These views sharply contrast with those of Watson and Radcliffe, who have publicly condemned transphobia.

Responding to a supporter’s expectation of a public apology from Watson and Radcliffe, Rowling retorted, “Not safe, I’m afraid.” She criticized celebrities who align with movements she perceives as threatening women’s rights and supporting the transition of minors.

Rowling’s backlash began in 2020, prompting Harry Potter stars to express solidarity with the trans community. Watson affirmed her support for transgender individuals, emphasizing their right to live without constant scrutiny or denial of their identity.

Meanwhile, Radcliffe apologised for the pain caused by Rowling’s comments and advocated for transgender rights in an essay for LGBTQ+ organisation The Trevor Project.

Other Harry Potter actors have also weighed in on Rowling’s views. Rupert Grint firmly stood with the trans community, likening Rowling’s stance to a familial disagreement. Ralph Fiennes defended Rowling against verbal abuse, emphasizing her right to express her identity. Evanna Lynch urged for more understanding towards Rowling, emphasising her character’s advocacy for vulnerable individuals. Harry Melling expressed his support for transgender individuals, affirming their gender identities.
