Machine Gun Kelly Reveals He Was Banned From Coachella

Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker or MGK, has recently addressed his alleged ‘ban’ from the Coachella Music Festival. While he’s been making headlines lately for his relationship with Megan Fox, MGK’s musical journey began long before their romance took center stage.

Starting with mixtapes, the 33-year-old artist eventually signed with Bad Boy Records, releasing his debut studio album Lace Up. However, it was his transition to a punk-pop sound that propelled his career to new heights, notably with his 2020 album Tickets to My Downfall, the sole rock album to debut on the Billboard 200 that year.

Alongside his musical endeavors, MGK has also delved into acting, appearing in projects like Midnight In The Switchgrass, where he crossed paths with Fox. Given his multifaceted success, particularly in music, one might wonder why he claims to be ‘banned’ from the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

The revelation came via a post on X, where MGK shared, “Never been to a coachella, they banned me in 2012 for whatever reason, i was looking forward to finally going this year but my daughters volleyball tournament ended up on the same days so yall will have to lmk how it is, she comes first.”

MGK is a proud father to Casie Colson Baker, his daughter with ex Emma Cannon. Fans swiftly rallied behind him, commending his prioritisation of family over festival attendance. One supporter noted, “I remember watching videos where you’d say how guilty you felt for working so hard because you’d have to miss things with Casie. Now look at you. Growth. Best dad on earth!”

Another echoed the sentiment, proclaiming, “We stan a good dad. she won’t forget this.” The outpouring of support emphasised the importance of familial bonds, with one commenter stating, “Moments with family may not come again, Coachella always will. You’re amazing.”

While MGK’s absence from Coachella may disappoint some fans, many lauded his dedication to fatherhood, recognising that family commitments take precedence. As one admirer put it, “Here’s to being parents.” Despite the setback, there’s a prevailing sentiment that MGK deserves his moment at Coachella in the future.
