Kim Kardashian Announces Shock Career Move

Kim Kardashian, alongside Emma Roberts and I. Marlene King, is set to produce a new Netflix series titled “Calabasas,” as announced by Deadline on Saturday.

The 43-year-old media mogul, her co-star from “American Horror Story: Delicate,” 33-year-old Roberts, and the creator of “Pretty Little Liars,” 61-year-old King, will serve as executive producers alongside Alexandra Milchan (Tár).

“Calabasas” will be based on the book “If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now” by Via Bleidner. King will adapt the script and also take on the role of showrunner.

The series will follow the journey of a 16-year-old girl named Via, hailing from the midwest, who relocates to Calabasas High after her family’s move to California.

Kim Kardashian, whose family’s reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” brought Calabasas into the spotlight, continues to expand her presence in television and film. “Calabasas” marks her fourth major scripted project.

In addition to “Calabasas,” Kardashian is set to star in the Netflix comedy “Fifth Wheel” and a thriller for Amazon. She is also collaborating with Ryan Murphy on a legal drama series for Hulu.

Kardashian and Roberts recently shared a kiss in the latest episode of “American Horror Story: Delicate” on Fox. In the episode, Kim’s character, Siobhan Corbyn, orchestrates an Oscars campaign for Emma’s character, actress Anna Victoria Alcott. Their on-screen kiss occurred when Anna won the award during the ceremony, depicted in the episode titled “Little Gold Man.”

During a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Roberts shared her experience of kissing and being slapped by Kardashian on set, likening it to just another day at work. Reflecting on the kiss, Roberts admitted her initial nonchalance, though she later realised the significance of the moment, prompting laughter between her and Kardashian during filming.
