Tourist Killed On Surfing Trip In Mexico Sent Heartbreaking Voice Message To Girlfriend Before He Died

The partner of one of the tourists tragically killed during a trip to Mexico has shared the poignant final voice message he sent her.

Australian Callum Robinson, along with his brother Jake Robinson, 30, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, were visiting Baja California in Mexico when the tragic incident occurred. The group was discovered deceased at the bottom of a 50-foot-deep well in Baja, California.

Initial reports from Mexican authorities suggested the trio may have fallen victim to a violent robbery, with the intention of stealing their vehicle and parts, including their tires.

Callum, 33, reached out to his girlfriend, Emily Horwath, leaving her a heartfelt voice message, which would later become his final communication to her. Horwath shared the touching message on her Instagram page.

In the message, Callum said, “Happy Tuesday! Good morning. It’s 11:11 and I’m just thinking about you. Just wanted to drop you a quick message and say hello, baby. Hope you’re having a phenomenal start to your day. I’m sensing a big grin on your face for some reason today. I hope you’re full of positivity and smiles. Cheers, baby. Miss ya.”

Horwath added her reflections, encouraging others to cherish their loved ones, embrace life with positivity, and live fully, in tribute to Callum’s spirit.

The tragic deaths of the three men have raised concerns about tourist safety in Mexico. Addressing these concerns, Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila assured that the state remains committed to safe tourism, extending condolences to the grieving families.

Authorities in both Mexico and the US are investigating the incident, with three individuals reportedly arrested in Mexico in connection with the killings.

Horwath also paid tribute to her late partner in a heartfelt caption, expressing the profound impact he had on her life and her struggle to comprehend a world without him. She expressed gratitude for having loved him.

RIP.
