‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ reveals the gang but Scooby is missing for now
Netflix has revealed the first look at its live action Scooby-Doo series.
And something feels off.
The iconic Mystery Inc. gang is here. Daphne, Velma, Fred and Shaggy are all present.
But Scooby?
Nowhere to be seen.
The upcoming series, Scooby-Doo: Origins, is a modern reimagining that goes back to the very beginning, exploring the gang’s first ever case.
Set during their final summer at camp, the story follows Shaggy and Daphne as they get pulled into a creepy mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy linked to a possible supernatural murder.
They are joined by Velma, the logical problem solver, and Fred, the mysterious new arrival, as the group uncovers secrets that could change everything.
So where is Scooby?
The famous dog is expected to appear later, likely created using visual effects, which explains his absence from the first reveal.
Still, fans noticed.
The franchise, which spans decades of shows and films, is finally getting a live action series on Netflix and it is clearly aiming for a darker, origin focused tone.
Eight episodes are planned.
And if this first look is anything to go by, it is not the Scooby-Doo fans remember.
