Smallville Star Chris Gauthier Dead Aged 48

Chris Gauthier, recognized for his appearances in series such as “Once Upon A Time” and “Smallville,” has passed away, as confirmed by his agency in a statement.

The actor’s sudden demise on Friday followed a recent illness, as reported by TriStar Appearances/Event Horizon Talent, expressing their sorrow to TVLine.

Chad Colvin of Tristar shared on Facebook that Gauthier epitomized the essence of a character actor, whose presence in any show or movie could captivate audiences, despite not being a household name.

Gauthier’s career encompassed a variety of notable projects, including “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “iZombie,” “Psych,” “Supernatural,” “Smallville,” “Watchmen,” “Agent Cody Banks,” “Little Man,” and “Freddy vs. Jason,” among others.

He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of the gourmet chef Vincent in the science-fiction series “Eureka,” appearing in 67 episodes, and later as Mr. Smee, Captain Hook’s loyal first mate, in the ABC drama “Once Upon A Time.”

Colin O’Donoghue, Gauthier’s co-star from “Once Upon A Time,” who portrayed Captain Hook, paid a heartfelt tribute, acknowledging Gauthier as the true captain of their shared journey.

Survived by his wife Erin and their two children, Chris Gauthier’s legacy will endure in the hearts of many.

He was 48 years old. Rest in peace.
