J-Lo Introduces Her Child Emme With They/Them Pronouns

Jennifer Lopez received praise for her acknowledgment of her child Emme’s pronouns during a joint performance, where she referred to Emme using they/them pronouns.

The pop icon was onstage at LA’s Dodgers Stadium for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala when she invited Emme to join her.

In a clip from the event, dating back to 2022 when Emme was 14 years old, Lopez remarked, “The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t. So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey.”

Referring to Emme as her “favorite duet partner,” Lopez expressed her appreciation for their presence despite the cost, emphasizing their importance to her.

Although Lopez used they/them pronouns for Emme, neither she nor Emme have publicly discussed their gender identity.

Nevertheless, fans commended Lopez for her respectful use of they/them pronouns for her child. One individual commented, “Emme is so brave. They’re only 14. And you can see it in JLo’s eyes. She’s so proud.”

Another expressed their admiration, stating, “Amazing!! In love with this!” while a third highlighted the unconditional support of mothers, saying, “I love how us Mothers will support our children no matter what! I love this, go Emme.”

“Awww JLo respecting the pronouns,” added a fourth admirer.
